Haley Moss to Receive The Occhigrossi Family Youth in Service Award

Unicorn Children’s Foundation is pleased to announce that Haley Mosswill be receiving The Occhigrossi Family Youth in Service Award at The Unicorn Ball : #GetDownwithMotown! Please join us at The Polo Club of Boca Raton on February 16th to help celebrate this remarkable young lady!!
About Haley:
Haley Moss is a Florida native who was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism at age three and is now a practicing attorney. She graduated with her Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2018, and graduated from the University of Florida in 2015 with Bachelors degrees in Psychology and Criminology.
She is a renowned visual pop artist and the author of “Middle School: The Stuff Nobody Tells You About” and “A Freshman Survival Guide for College Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders: The Stuff Nobody Tells You About.” She also was the illustrator and a contributor for the Autism Women’s Network anthology “What Every Autistic Girl Wishes Her Parents Knew.” Her writing has been featured in HuffPost, Elite Daily, The Mighty, and other websites and publications.
Haley was most recently honored as the 2018 Publix Self-Advocate of the Year, the 2018 UM-NSU CARD Outstanding Self-Advocate, and the 2018 Voices of Hope Honoree by Birch Family Services in New York City. She was also recognized as a BlogHer 2016 Voices of the Year honoree and one of South Florida’s Young Leaders in Philanthropy. She was also presented with the Council For Exceptional Children’s Yes I Can! International Award in April 2011. Haley created the featured artwork as well as being presented with the Teen Hero Award at the 10th Annual Samsung Hope for Children event in June 2011.
She is currently serving on the constituency board for UM-NSU and previously served on the board of Unicorn Village Academy.

***About the Community Spirit Race***

The Community Spirit Race is a community wide fundraising event for Nonprofit Organizations.

This is expected to be one of the largest collaborative fundraising events in our area. It will feature 1Mile, 5k and Fun run race at the Beautiful FAU Campus in Boca Raton, Starting and ending in the FAU Football Stadium.

This Event brings together nonprofits, business and individuals. The Spirit of Giving in an Umbrella organization with 60+ nonprofit members.

Many nonprofits are not able to take on the risk of having a 5K race on their own. The Spirit of Giving provides marketing, publicity, materials, free training and fundraising expertise for the race. Each Nonprofit has the opportunity to fundraise for their teams with the ability to keep all of their fundraising money. It is an opportunity for nonprofits in our area to raise much needed funds to support the work that they do.

The Theme of our event is Health and Safety.

We will have Many Health, fitness and Safety related vendors at our event. For all the participants and guests to receive much needed health and Safety information in our community. Including but not limited to, Professional Warm up services for participants before the race. Police and Fire Services, Boca Raton Regional Hospital services, Child ID program service and, Healthy Food for all Participants.

Registration Opens at 6:30 Am with 5K starting at 7:30am, 1 mile at 8:30 am

Breakfast, award ceremony and other activities following the race.
