Unicorn Children's Foundation Inspires Hope and Raised Awareness of Neurodiversity
The Unicorn Children's Foundation Angel Ball was a spectacular success and raised over a quarter of a million dollars at Boca West Country Club to support programs that will improve the lives of children and young adults challenged by neurodiversity. The evening was designed to honor the everyday philanthropic 'angels' who support our cause as well as the heroic efforts of the families who face the daily challenges associated with caring for a child's unique needs.
Chaired by Gregory Fried of Gregory's Fine Jewelry and hosted by Miss Florida Teen USA Gracie Smith, attendees were treated to a never before seen "art story" performed by world-renowned speed artist Michael Israel. Many were brought to tears of joy and happiness as the raw beauty of the message unfolded and depicted the struggles of families as well as the hope and potential that can be unlocked in a child.
The evening culminated with recognition of 3 special honorees who work every day to support, advocate for, and empower individuals who think, communicate, and learn differently-
Arthur Adler, President of Boca West Foundation, received the Rosenbloom Shining Star Award for using his leadership position to promote awareness of and offer solutions to address the struggles of children and families.
Rachel Barcellona, USA National Miss Central Florida and Miss Tampa International, was awarded The Occhigrossi Family Youth in Service award in recognition of her "Abilities Beyond Disabilities" platform that helps individuals challenged by neurodiversity achieve their dreams.
Jeannette Stark, founding member of Unicorn's Board of Directors, received the Grand Ambassador Award for her extraordinary leadership, passionate advocacy of, and long-standing generosity to The Unicorn Children's Foundation.
Unicorn Children's Foundation efforts are made possible by the generous support of the following sponsors: Gail Wasserman Lee and Richard W. Lee, Sunshine Health, The Meran Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, Wechsler Family Foundation, Mike and Valeria Rosenbloom, United Capital Boca Raton, Anne and Norman Jacobson, Boca West Country Club, Gregory's Fine Jewelry, Simply The Best Magazine, and Eye On South Florida.
With 1 of every 6 children affected by some form of intellectual or developmental disability, most of us have experienced the challenges first-hand or know someone who has. Every single person, from the high powered executive to the stay at home mom, can make a positive impact and help a child/family in need. All proceeds will support our efforts to create communities that help individuals with special needs live a life worth living.
