Help Us Raise $10,000 for Whiteboards

Help us raise funds for Unicorn Village Academy for the interactive whiteboards that interface with the specialized computers that Marathon Golf helped fund last year. These boards allow the students and teachers to interact with the whiteboard to help improve learning outcomes.

Combining the simplicity of a whiteboard with the power of a computer, the SMART board allows the teacher to deliver dynamic lessons, write notes in digital ink and save work-with the simple touch of a finger.

Watch Me Thrive

The Obama Administration has launched a new initiative to expand developmental and behavioral screening for children across the country.  The “Birth to 5: Watch Me Thrive!” effort is an educational tool but more funding is needed to conduct these screenings.

Unicorn Children’s Foundation Mobile Developmental Clinics, operated in partnership with local universities, provide free screenings and parent referrals to support organizations where children identified at-risk can receive the appropriate treatment at the earliest age possible.  It costs approximately $40 per child to be screened and identified early which will provide them the greatest chance of an improved future.

World Autism Awareness Day

Today is a very special day to celebrate and spread awareness of the unique strengths and talents of individuals who have been diagnosed with autism.

Four years ago today, our Founder, Dr. Mark Rosenbloom, and Executive Director, Sharon Alexander, were invited guests to the Second Annual World Autism Awareness Day at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.

At that time, the incident of autism was 1 out of 91 births. Statistics released this week by the Center for Disease Control reveal that 1 in 68 U.S. children are affected, a 30% increase between 2008 and 2010.

What change has occurred over the last 4 years that has not yet been revealed?

The Unicorn Children’s Foundation is working diligently to increase opportunities for individual’s with neurodiversity to live independently, obtain and sustain employment, pursue continued academic endeavors, and participate in the communities where they live.

Your donation will help us to make a difference in the lives of those who think communicate and learn differently. To help, visit http://www.unicornchildrensfoundation.org/donate-now/

Photos from Boating and Beach Bash Now Available!

The Boating & Beach Bash for People with Disabilities, March 22, 2014, 10 - 3PM was an incredible and heartwarming event that we are proud to have the honor of being the Title Sponsor of. The thrill of a boat ride, the dancing in the rain, and the interactions with Superheros left joy on the faces on not only the attendees, but the volunteers, exhibitors, and caregivers. A special thank you for the outpouring of support from the community to make this event possible.
