An Invitation to Help Us Change the World

Unicorn Children’s Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, is preparing to launch its “I Am…” campaign that will feature individuals diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as Autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, Bipolar, Dyslexia, and other Learning Disorders. The goal of this program is to change the world’s perception of individuals diagnosed with these disorders so that they begin focusing on each individual’s strengths and interests rather than their diagnosis and challenges. 

The possibilities are endless! Please share with us your special skills, hobbies, and successes and you may be featured by Unicorn Children’s Foundation. Selected individuals will be featured monthly on our social networking sites and our website. One individual will be featured in each of our newsletters that are distributed to over 5,000 members around the world. A handful of individuals will be featured in our “I Am…” documentary.

Dan Marino Foundation Jobs Development Application

The Dan Marino Foundation Jobs Development Program Empowering Young Adults Toward Independence

Young adults will participate in academic preparation and on-the-job training and apprenticeships to gain skills necessary for competitive and sustainable employment. Based on individual preferences, opportunities will also be made available in the Hospitality, Information Technology, and Entrepreneurship industries. The Jobs Development Program is sponsored by The Dan Marino Foundation and the State of Florida, Agencies for Persons with Disabilities. 

Interested? If you are able to answer “yes” to all of the questions below, you are eligible to apply for the Jobs Development Program.

• Are you between the ages of 18 to 28 years of age?
• Are you a resident of Florida?
• Do you have a documented diagnosis of a Developmental Disability: Autism Spectrum Disorder (includes Asperger’s Syndrome and Pervasive Developmental Disability-Not Otherwise Specified), Cerebral Palsy, Prader-Willi Syndrome, and/or other Intellectual Disability?
• Have you graduated from high school (regular diploma, special diploma, certificate of completion) or exited the K-12 school system?
• Do you want to be competitively employed at a minimum of 20 hours per week?
• Are you legally able to work in the United States?
• Are you able to navigate independently on campus and work environments (e.g., 8 students to 1 staff on-campus and 4 students to 1 staff on internship sites)?
• Do you have access to transportation to and from the program site in downtown Fort Lauderdale and related internship sites?
• Are you able to attend a 2-week Employment and Career Seminar from September 3 to September 13?
